Probably the single most useful LabVIEW trick. It is shown on every LabVIEW cheatsheet or shortcut list, still it took me a while to actually start using it. Whenever you need more space on your block diagram just hold down the Ctrl key and draw a rectangle with your mouse, then release Ctrl. This will add blank space corresponding to the area of the rectangle, moving all object around and auto-growing for/while loops if necessary. To only expand in one direction (either vertically or horizontally) all you have to do is draw a line, or a very thin rectangle, up to the point you don't actually see the dashed line of the rectangle. That way you are drawing a straight horizontal/vertical line.
